Project Scope
MCA are currently engaged by South32 to change out the fixed guide in the Appin West M&M Shaft.
This project has included a design, supply and fabrication component which included importation for the section size required as well as extensive site installation in the 480 mtrs M&M shaft.
The existing fixed guides are the original set and have severe rust, holes and structural damage. MCA’s scope has been to engineer, fabricate and install access platforms which mount of the existing cage and change the guides out throughout the shaft safely and efficiently.
This project has been running since early 2019 and we have had a team of workers there each week since the 12th of January 2020 completing the site works.
MCA specializes in shaft work and this project like many others has significant dangers/ risks associated. Our team is working in harnesses with 100% hook up at all times when working on the platforms.
